Dylan Bucci Grid Computing

Dylan Bucci was a Cyber Academy student who pioneered our contributions to the World Community Grid - a service that allows you to use your spare computer processing power to crunch data from your choice of scientific research project. Dylan first took charge of the configuration of our internal infrastructure to contribute to cancer research at the Krembil Institute in Toronto, ON.

Unfortunately, Dylan tragically passed away in 2022 after a hard-fought battle with Ewing sarcoma. He was an incredible inspiration to our program, and his legacy lives on with our yearly Dylan Bucci Grid Computing Challenges.

The students, staff, and communities of Winnipeg School Division are committed to truth and reconciliation through building relationships with Mother Earth, the original peoples of this land, and the stories that bring us together. We acknowledge the place in which we gather is on Treaty 1 territory, the homeland of the Red River Métis, and the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, and Dakota Oyate peoples.
