In 2014, the Government of Manitoba formally recognized the hard work and dedication of the staff and students at Sisler High School by designating the former Micro Computer Network Support program as the Sisler Network and Cyber Security Academy. This designation was accompanied by a seed fund of $300,000 to enhance classroom infrastructure, support enterprise servers, provide student desktops, and install official Cyber Academy signage at the front of Sisler High School.

Thank you to Premier Greg Selinger and the Government of Manitoba for the jump start for this initiative.

Since 2019, The Walter and Maria Schroeder Foundation have made significant contributions to the Sisler Cyber Academy, supporting its mission to provide top-tier education in cybersecurity. Their generous donations funded the purchase of critical server equipment and desktop workstations, ensuring students had access to the latest technology for hands-on learning. Additionally, the foundation's support extended to covering the salary of a technical mentor, helping to further elevate the educational experience. This partnership has been invaluable in empowering students with the necessary tools and guidance to excel in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity. The Schroeder Foundation’s commitment continues to shape the academy's success, fostering a new generation of skilled cybersecurity professionals. Additionally, the top 16 students (academic average) per grade taking a Sisler Cyber Academy course will receive a financial award at the end of each semester.
